This monument is present in Mahasamund district on the south bank of Mahanadi in Sirpur. This temple is very important from both archaeological and religious point of view. Due to objection by the trustees of this temple, its final notification could not be issued. Its ancient name was Gandharveshwar Temple which was built around 7-8th century AD. The existing external form of this temple is from the Maratha period. This east-facing temple has three parts: the pavilion based on sixteen pillars, the antaral section and the sanctum sanctorum. There are many statues embedded in the walls and outer walls of this temple. There are three inscriptions of Mahashivgupta Panduvanshi ruler engraved here. A huge Buddha statue is situated near the river gate.
Due to lack of renovation during the Maratha period, the original form of this ancient temple has been lost. Many important statues and inscriptions are installed in the temple premises. In this, Lord Buddha's land clear posture, Lord 'hiva's Tandava dance posture and statues like Uma Maheshwar Mahishasur Mardini etc. are noteworthy.
